Common questions
About how the tools work, where the numbers come from and what we do with your data.
Are these official government calculators?
No. canada.base64.sh is an independent project. Each tool links the official page it follows; confirm important results with the CRA, IRCC or your province.
Is my data sent anywhere?
No. Calculations run in your browser. A SIN, amount or postal code you type never leaves your device.
How current are the rates?
Each tool shows the tax year or effective date of the rates it uses, along with the source.
Why do I need to pick a province?
Sales tax, provincial income tax, employment standards and statutory holidays all differ by province or territory.
Can I use the site in French?
Yes. The whole site is available in English and French — use the language switch at the top of the page.
How do you check the numbers?
Every rate and threshold comes from an official source linked on the tool page, and each calculator has automated tests against official examples or tables. Where a figure could not be confirmed, the page says so.
Amounts, SINs and postal codes are processed in your browser. Nothing is uploaded.
Each tool states its rate year and links the CRA, IRCC or provincial page it follows.
