Where the points come from
The CRS adds four sections. These are the maximums IRCC prints for the current grid.
| Factor | With a spouse or partner | Without |
|---|---|---|
| A. Core / human capital | 460 | 500 |
| Age | 100 | 110 |
| Education | 140 | 150 |
| First official language | 128 | 136 |
| Second official language | 22 | 24 |
| Canadian work experience | 70 | 80 |
| B. Spouse or partner factors | 40 | not applicable |
| C. Skill transferability | 100 | 100 |
| D. Additional points | 600 | 600 |
| Grand total | 1,200 | 1,200 |
A provincial nomination alone is worth 600 points, which is why section D carries the cap. Under the November 3 rules the Canadian work experience line is replaced by the Labour Market Integration factor.
What changes on November 3, 2026
IRCC’s notice says that from November 3, 2026, points for Canadian work experience and job offers are combined into a new “Labour Market Integration” factor.
Up to 140 with a spouse or partner. Work experience: 80 for work length plus 70 for high-wage experience (70 plus 70 with a spouse).
A qualifying offer in a high-wage occupation earns 100, 70 or 50 depending on whether the occupation’s median wage is at least 2, 1.5 or 1.3 times the national average. The score uses whichever is higher: work experience or the offer.
A job offer no longer needs a Labour Market Impact Assessment to count. Officers assess whether the offer is genuine when you apply for permanent residence.
High-wage experience: 70 points for at least 12 months in occupations at 2 times the average median wage, otherwise 40 for 1.5 times, otherwise 20 for 1.3 times. IRCC will recalculate existing profiles after the changes start, which can take up to two weeks, and will pause invitation rounds meanwhile.
What this calculator leaves out
- Whether you are eligible for Federal Skilled Worker, Canadian Experience Class or Federal Skilled Trades at all.
- Which occupations are high-wage. IRCC publishes the NOC list; check it before relying on the new-rules result.
- Educational credential assessment (ECA) results for foreign study, and the language-test validity dates.
- The score needed in any invitation round. Cut-offs change with every draw.
- Rules after November 1, 2026 that IRCC may announce.
Frequently asked questions
Do job offers still give CRS points in 2026?
Not under the grid in force until November 2, 2026, which has no job-offer points. From November 3, 2026, IRCC reintroduces them inside the Labour Market Integration factor: 100, 70 or 50 points for a qualifying offer in a high-wage occupation. You receive either work-experience points or job-offer points in that factor, not both.
What CRS score do I need to get an invitation?
There is no fixed score. IRCC sets a cut-off for each round of invitations, and it differs by draw type. Check IRCC’s rounds-of-invitations page for recent results; this page cannot predict a cut-off.
How many points is a provincial nomination worth?
600 points, added in section D.
How do I get my CLB levels?
Convert each IELTS, CELPIP, PTE Core, TEF Canada or TCF Canada result to a Canadian Language Benchmark level using IRCC’s chart. Our CLB converter applies that chart. Use the lowest level of the four abilities for the bonuses that depend on a minimum.
Will my existing profile score change on November 3?
IRCC says it will recalculate points in existing profiles when the changes take effect, which could take up to two weeks, and that invitation rounds will pause during that time.
Is this the official CRS calculator?
No. IRCC’s “Check your score” tool is the official one, and only IRCC’s score at the time of an invitation counts. This page applies IRCC’s published grid so you can see the breakdown and compare the two rule sets.

How we check it
Automated tests (Node’s built-in test runner) check each table against IRCC’s grid: age, education, first and second language, Canadian work experience, spouse factors, skill transferability, additional points and the Labour Market Integration rules. They also check the section maximums IRCC prints (500 or 460, 100, 600, 1,200).
Limit: we could not run IRCC’s own calculator for comparison, so the profile totals in the tests are added by hand from the grid, not taken from an official result. The calculator is a transcription of the published tables, not an independent implementation.
One judgement call: for the French bonus, we award 50 points when your English is at least CLB 5 in every ability and 25 otherwise. Check IRCC’s page for edge cases.
